we’re open every sunday.
~
All year round, we fire up the smoker every Sunday and offer an exciting rotating menu of smoked meats plus clever entrées, inspired vegetables, thrice-cooked fries, fun seasonal desserts & more! Pair our legendary views with a one of a kind cocktail, cold beer, or one of our favorite wines by the glass or bottle. Whether returning from a river hang (après-river) or a day on the mountain (après-ski) come as you are, and bask in the summer glow or sit next to a cozy fireplace, sans reservations, with your friends and well-behaved furry friends. And don’t skip the ultimate vibe that is the golden hour spectacle from our famed patio. Follow the rabbit in the hat from highway 68 ;)

the legend of outlaw hill
From The Stakeout, one can see the Mesa Pedernal, 80 miles to the south, as well as Tres Orejas, Cerro, San Antonio, Picuris, and Taos Mountain. An “interested eye” can see the Gorge Bridge, which leads to Tres Piedras and the town of Carson, named after the most famous trapper, adventurer, and Indian Scout to explore Northern New Mexico.
The vantage of Outlaw Hill provided ample cover for the desperados and on-the-lam types who came here to rest and keep a lookout for approaching lawmen or adversaries coming from any direction.
Much later, in the 1970s, many locals and celebrity types frequented the site when The Stakeout was home to a beloved restaurant and bar.
