SUSY SUN BIO
Susy Sun began writing songs at her Casio keyboard when she was 10 years old. As one of six children and surrounded by the apple orchards of Washington, music was an escape. She studied classical piano and grew up singing at church. Memories of sneaking into her fathers CD collection are fond - The Carpenters, Jim Croce, Selena, The Beatles. She never missed a school talent show and spent most of her hours isolated in a bedroom, recording to cassette. In 2016, she traded the stages of the Northwest for the studios of Los Angeles and teamed up with Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, The Counting Crows). They recorded Sun’s debut LP, The Way The Wind Blows, weaving between pop, americana and classical genres. Sun’s sophomore album On Ivar Hill debuted in January, 2023. The songs were tracked to 2” tape with a live band and mini-orchestra. Palomino Sound provided an abundance of analog gear and vintage instruments, complimenting the purity of Sun’s lyricism and performance.
PAUL SPRING BIO
Paul Spring brings together classical guitar, baroque chorales, 808s, and Irish traditional melodies into a sound all his own. He has released 3 albums in the past 3 years. Between 2023’s Always Almost Home “meshing 90s pop and Bach” (MPR) and the “hidden pop gem” (Irish Times) of 2022ʼs Thunderhead, Spring experimented with minimal electronic production and folk. Aquarium Drunkard called his latest album, 2024’s River Flows Two Ways, “a singular fresh offering as well as a catalogue introduction of sorts.” Paul was raised in Saint Cloud, MN and has been based in New York City since 2018. He has completed two successful River Canoe tours. In 2015 he spent 48 days paddling 1200 miles down the Mississippi in support of his release Towards a Center. In 2024 he canoed 150 miles down the Hudson in support of River Flows Two Ways. Spring is also a passionate classical guitarist. He has released an album of Bach arrangements for 12 string guitar, and since 2022 he has played a weekly gig in Manhattan playing Bach.
